The forest was quiet, except for the frantic chittering coming from a small metal cage hidden beneath a tree. Inside, a crafty little squirrel darted back and forth, its tiny paws gripping the bars. Someone had trapped it, and now it needed my help to escape!
I crouched beside the cage, checking the rusty padlock keeping the door shut. No key in sight. Looking around, I spotted a worn-out wooden sign nailed to the tree. The faded writing read:
“Only those who crack the code shall set me free.”
That meant puzzles—and I was ready.
