In the heart of the Serengeti Plains, a young zoologist named Lirael Thorne studied rare animal behavior. Raised in Galway, Ireland, Lirael had loved wildlife since childhood. Her mother, a conservationist, inspired her to protect endangered species. After earning her degree, Lirael moved to Tanzania to join a field project on savanna wildlife.
One quiet morning, Lirael spotted a beautiful Nyala deer named Kelaji caught in a steel cage near a dried-up watering hole. Poachers had set the trap during the night. Kelaji, a creature she had observed for weeks, stood trembling behind bars. The wind whispered through tall grass, and vultures circled above.
Lirael knew she had to act quickly. The trap had a clever lock, and clues hid across the surrounding savanna. Only by solving nature-themed puzzles and searching for hidden objects could she open the cage.
