His heart sank—a hunter had captured it for dinner. The bird flapped its wings in distress, its golden-brown feathers shimmering in the fading light. Soren knew he couldn’t let this happen. He knelt to inspect the lock but found it tightly sealed with a puzzle-like mechanism.
Somewhere nearby, the hunter had likely hidden the key—or left behind clues to undo the trap. Time was running out. If he didn’t act fast, the hunter would return.
