In the heart of Palermo, Sicily, a small lemon-shaped creature named Citrello lived inside a kitchen cupboard at a historic café. The café, Antico Caffè Spinnato, buzzed with tourists daily, but no one noticed the lemon with legs and a tiny face hiding behind the spice rack.
Citrello wasn’t born in the usual way. A lightning bolt struck a lemon tree during a rare summer storm. One lemon glowed, rolled off the branch, and blinked. Citrello learned to walk, read cookbooks, and dream of adventure. He admired people who came for espresso and laughter, but he never stepped outside.
One evening, a clumsy waiter slammed the cupboard shut during cleanup and jammed the door. The kitchen emptied. Citrello woke up and found himself trapped.
He shook the door. It rattled but stayed closed.
“I’ve squeezed into small spots before,” he muttered, “but this is ridiculous.”
To escape, Citrello must solve clever puzzles scattered around the kitchen. Hidden keys sit behind salt tins. A recipe book holds riddles. The espresso machine hums a melody containing a code. To win his freedom, he must think fast, explore every drawer, and unlock the door.
