In the lush bamboo forests of Sichuan, China, a playful panda cub named Meilin lived happily with her family. She spent her days tumbling through the undergrowth, chasing butterflies, and munching on tender shoots.
One afternoon, as she explored the edge of the forest, the ground beneath her began to tremble. A sudden earthquake sent rocks tumbling, and before she could react, the soil collapsed beneath her feet. Meilin plunged into a deep pit, her tiny paws scrambling for something to hold onto.
She cried out, but the steep walls were too high to climb. Her family gathered above, unable to reach her. She needed help—fast. Somewhere nearby, tools, vines, or hidden pathways might provide an escape.
