For Tom Parker, babysitting had never been part of the plan. A 23-year-old college student, he had dreams of becoming a famous musician, not a last-minute babysitter for his neighbor’s six-month-old baby, Oliver.
But when Mrs. Thompson knocked on his door, begging him to watch Oliver for just a couple of hours, he couldn’t say no.
“He just ate, and he should be fine until I get back!” she promised.
She lied.
Because now, Oliver was screaming like a fire alarm, his tiny face red with rage.
Tom tried everything—rocking him, singing (which only made it worse), giving him a stuffed bear—nothing worked. That’s when he realized…
