At dawn, they crept through hidden corridors, reaching the castle gate. As Aldric reached for the latch, heavy iron bars slammed shut. A sorcerer’s magic sealed the exit, locking them inside. Someone had discovered their plan. Lysara searched frantically, but no key lay in sight.
Time ran short. Guards would soon arrive to return them to the tower. Freedom depended on wit and courage.
